Yes Gentle Reader, August is rapidly approaching and it is time to share my Dying to Know Day #D2KD speaking schedule with you. #D2KD is August 8th, but any event in August dedicated to improving death literacy and encouraging conversation around end of life, death, dying, and after-death rights and options is included.
August 8th - once again I am doing a double-header. Two events, one in Sydney at the Maquarie Park Cemetery where I am part of the “Doing Death Differently” panel at 11- 11:45. The event day runs from 10-3pm, so if this is local to your area and you are interested and curious, I encourage you to attend.
The second is an evening talk in a local homewares shop - because when we have to go it is important to go in style! This event is from 6-8pm, doors open at 5:30.
August 10th - I will be in Melbourne, an invited member of the panel "Lifting the lid on the industry" for the Australian Independent Funeral Professional's annual conference. This is an interesting all-day conference event, see the link above for further information about the association's aims and purpose. They do great work, offering real choice and alternatives for consumers.
August 15th - I am giving another local talk, this time for tradies in my area. All too often, busy working tradespeople do not have time to find out about rights and options for their personal lives, so with the support of John R. Turk electrical wholesalers in Woy Woy the information can come to them. This is an earlier event, tailored to a trades work schedule, this event runs from 4-6pm.
If you are interested in learning about a #D2KD event in your local area see the D2KDay Find an Event page.
